At the heart of the segment was a Tech Amnesty event in Bath, organised by Share and Repair in partnership with Donate IT, our sister charity. The event invited individuals and organisations to donate old laptops, phones, tablets, and other devices that might otherwise end up in landfill.
These devices were collected by Blackmore UK, where we ensured secure data destruction and full compliance with environmental regulations. From there, Donate IT refurbished the tech and passed it on to schools, families, and individuals in need—giving old devices a powerful new purpose.
A Moment That Mattered
One of the most moving moments of the day was seeing a young GCSE student receive a refurbished laptop. It was a simple exchange, but it captured the heart of the initiative: access to technology isn’t just about gadgets—it’s about education, opportunity, and connection.
Corporate Generosity in Action
We were also thrilled to welcome a generous donation from Curo, a local housing association. Their contribution showed how organisations can make a real impact by giving old IT a second life. These devices will now support learning, job access, and digital inclusion across the region.
Secure, Ethical, and Impactful
At Blackmore UK, we specialise in:
- Secure IT asset collection
- Certified data destruction
- WEEE recycling and compliance
Every device we collect is processed with care—ensuring data is wiped, materials are reused or recycled, and nothing goes to waste. Our partnership with Donate IT means your retired tech can go on to do something amazing.
Want to Get Involved?
If your organisation has IT equipment to retire, you can donate it directly to Blackmore UK. We’ll handle everything securely and responsibly, and your devices will be refurbished and redistributed through Donate IT.
